rected, dated fourth of March, eighteen, hundred
and sixty-two, which commission and return are
recorded in Liber L. W. number seven, folios five
hundred and six, five hundred and seven, and five
hundred and eight of the records in the office of
the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Somerset County,
and the Commissioners may enlarge the same from
time to time, as they may think necessary.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 184.

AN ACT to repeal Article seventy-one of the
Code of Public General Laws of the State of
Maryland, entitled Oysters, and to re-enact the
same with amendments.

23, 1867.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Article seventy-one of the
Code of Public General Laws of the State of Ma-
ryland, entitled Oysters, be, and the same is here-
by repealed and re-enacted, to read as follows :

re-enacted.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That no owner, master, captain,
hirer, borrower, or employee of any owner or oth-
er person shall use or employ any canoe, boat or
vessel of any kind or description whatever in tak-
ing or catching oysters for sale in the waters of
this State, or in buying or selling oysters in the
State without having first obtained a license to
80 use or employ such canoe, boat or other vessel
as hereinafter provided.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted. That the Comptrol-
ler of the Treasury shall, upon the application of
any resident of the State of Maryland, being the
owner of any boat or vessel licensed or enrolled in
any customhouse of the United States, in said
State, issue to such resident license to take or
