Sec. 4. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its acceptance by the
holders of at least two thirds of the capital stock
of said company, convened in meeting for such
purpose, after notice by the said President and
Managers of the time, place and object of such
meeting by publication in at least one of the daily
papers of Baltimore city for the period of one
week, but tin's act shall not take effect unless at
the time of such acceptance at least two-thirds of
such capital stock shall be held or owned by citi-
zens of the State of Maryland. |

AN ACT to amend an Act entitled, an Act to
amend an Act entitled, an Act to aid and en-
courage enlistments into the Maryland Regi-
ments in the service of the United States, passed
eighteen hundred and sixty-four, chapter fifteen
and to provide for the prompt payment of the
bounties therein specified, and to repeal section
four of said Act and to re-enact the same so as
to make the bounties therein specified, payable
to the widows and heirs of deceased soldiers,
and to make said bounties payable to the heirs
of such soldiers as having been honorably dis-
charged after faithful service, have died without
receiving the benefits of its provisions. |

WHEREAS, since the passage of the Act above
referred to, certain soldiers entitled to the bounty
provided by said Act have, after being honor-
ably discharged from the service of the United
States, died before receiving the benefits of said
bounty Act; and whereas, it is believed the pro-
visions of said Act do not authorize the payment |
