and Mechanical Association, and such others as
shall be hereafter admitted members of the same,
be, and they are hereby constituted a body politic
and corporate, with succession, under the style
and title of the Maryland Agricultural and Me-
chanical Association, or such other style and title
as they may hereafter adopt, with power to them
and their successors to adopt a common seal and
the same to alter and change, and by the cor-
porate name above mentioned, to sue and be sued,
implead and be impleaded and to take and hold
property, real, personal and mixed, and the
same to sell, exchange or otherwise dispose of and
in general to do, perform and suffer, with refer-
ence to the hereinbefore mentioned purposes of
their incorporation all acts and things which may
lawfully be done, perform and suffer by a natural
person.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this incorpora-
tion or a majority of the members of the same
shall have full power to make a system of rules
and regulations under the denomination of a con-
stitution, by-laws or otherwise, not inconsistent
with the laws of the State; for the management of
the affairs of said Society, and the same to alter
and amend, abrogate and annul whenever they
may think proper, and the present officers of the
said Society shall continue in their respective sta-
tions until an election shall be made under this
Act, and the constitution, by-laws, regulations
and ordinances now in force not inconsistent with
the laws of this State, shall be good and valid
until altered) amended or abrogated by the cor-
poration.

regulations.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That for the purpose
of assisting the association hereby incorporated,
to purchase ground suitable for the purpose of
holding exhibitions, the sum of twenty-five thous-
and dollars be, and the same is hereby appropria-
ted to be paid on the warrant of the Comptroller
of the Treasury out of any money not otherwise
appropriated, to the following named Trustees, to
wit: Alfred Spates, of Allegany county, N. B.
Worthington, of Anne Arundel county, William
Devries, Thomas A. Mules, B. G. Ulery, Ezra
Whitman, Edmund Law Rogers, and Charles M.
