CHAPTER 110.

AN ACT entitled an Act to authorize the Com-
missioners of Carroll County to appoint an ad-
ditional constable for District number Two in
said County.

5, 1867.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General assembly
of Maryland, That the Commissioners of Carroll
County, be authorized to appoint an additional
constable for District number Two in said County,
to reside in the village or vicinity of Union Bridge.

Sec. 2. Be it enacted, That tins Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 111.

AN ACT to incorporate the Burkettsville Female
Seminary of Frederick county.

Passed Mar.
1, 1867.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General assembly
of Maryland, That Joshua Ahatt, Ezra Horine,
Daniel Young, Rev. G. H. Boners, of Frederick
county and others, who may hereafter be appoint-
ed, and their successors, shall be and they are
hereby declared and constituted a body politic
or corporate, under the name and style of the
"Burkettsville Female Seminary," and by that
name, shall sue and be sued, implead and be im-
pleaded, answer and be answered, defend and be de-
fended in any of the Courts of Law or Equity in
this State; shall have and use a common seal; and
the same change, break or renew at pleasure; re-
ceive, hold or possess property, real, personal or
mixed to the amount and for the purpose herein-
after expressed; pass such by-laws, rules and reg-
ulations as may be deemed necessary, not incon-
sistent with this Act, or the Constitution and Laws
of this State; and to perform all such other Acts
