Authority to
sell, rent or
transfer.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That on .and after the passage of
thus Act the aforesaid Frostburg Lodge number
forty-nine. Independent Order of Odd-Fellows,
shall have full power to sell, rent or transfer in
any way and for any purpose the aforesaid build-
ing and appurtenances thereunto belonging.

In force.

Sec. 2. Be it enacted. That this Act shall -
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 98.

Passed Feb.
28, 1867.

AN ACT to prevent the selling or peddling of
carriages, hacks, gigs and buggy-waggons,
&c., in Washington county, not manufactured
in the State of Maryland.

License to be
obtained.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That from and after the first day
of April, eighteen hundred and sixty-seven, it
shall not lie lawful for any person or persons to
bring into Washington county any carriages,
hacks, gigs, buggy-wagons, Harness, wheat drills,
reapers, Horse-rakes, ploughs or any description
of farming utensils or goods not manufactured in
the State, to be sold on commission or otherwise
without first obtaining a license for that purpose.

Clerk to is-
sue License.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted. That the Clerk of the
Circuit Court for Washington county, upon ap-
plication for license for the purpose mentioned in
the first section of this Act, shall issue such li-
cense upon the payment of forty dollars, and such
license shall be renewed annually.

Penalty for
non-compli-
ance.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That any person duly
convicted of violating any of the provisions of this
Act shall be subject, to a fine of not less twenty
nor more than fifty dollars for each and every such
offence, recoverable as small debts out of court are
recovered, and one-half of said fine shall be ap-
