such other improvements as may be found or
deemed necessary to give effect to the object and
purposes of this Act, and to sell, rent, lease, con-
vey, grant on condition or otherwise dispose of
lands; water rights or water powers that shall or
may become the property of said company, to-
gether with the buildings and improvements
thereon erected, and the building and equipping
of a steamboat or steamboats to ply on the waters
of the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries between
the said colony or colonies and the city of Balti-
more, or any other point deemed necessary to
carry out the provisions of this Act, for the pur-
pose of towing and conveying freight, passengers
and merchandize, for which said company may
charge, receive and collect a reasonable compensa-
tion. |

Sec. 3. And be it enacted. That this act shall
take effect from and after the date of its passage. |

Entitled AN ACT to repeal sections eight, twelve,
thirteen, fourteen, fifteen, sixteen, seventeen,
eighteen and nineteen of an Act passed on the
tenth day of March, eighteen hundred and six-
ty-four, and entitled An Act to incorporate The
Maryland Life Insurance Company of Baltimore,
and to re-enact in lieu thereof the following sec-
tions : |

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General assem-
bly of Maryland, That sections eight, twelve,
thirteen, fourteen fifteen, sixteen, seventeen, eigh-
teen and nineteen of an Act to incorporate the
Maryland Life Insurance Company of Baltimore,
passed at the session of eighteen hundred and
sixty-four, chapter three hundred and sixty-two,
be, and the game are hereby repealed; and the |
