Released from
all liability to
the State. |
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General assembly
of Maryland, That John Welch, a surety on the
bond of John Barnard, a former Sheriff of Alle-
gany county, be and he is hereby released from
any and all liability to the State of Maryland, for
or on account of said claim against said Barnard,
as such Sheriff, and that the action instituted in
the Circuit Court for Allegany county, against
said Welch as surety aforesaid, be and the same is
hereby ordered to be discontinued, and entered off. |

Sec. 2. And be enacted. That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage. |

AN ACT entitled an Act to repeal section two
hundred and twenty-seven of Article four of the
Code of Public Local Laws, relating to elections
in Baltimore city, and to re-enact the same with
amendments. |

pealed. |
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Section two hundred and twen-
ty-seven, of Article four, of the Code of Public
Local Laws, be and the same is hereby repealed,
and the following Section substituted therefor : |

Sec. 227. That in all Municipal Elections to be
held in the city of Baltimore, the Sheriff of said
city, under the penalty of one thousand dollars,
shall give notice thereof, in all the daily newspapers
in the said city, till the day of election. |

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage. |
