The Senate adjourned until to-morrow, at 11 o'clock, A. M.

TUESDAY, March 5th, 1867.

The President laid before the Senate the following commu-
nication from His Excellency, Gov. Swann :

OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS,

Annapolis, March 1st, 1867.
To the Senate,

GENTLEMEN :—I have the honor to state, that at a meeting
of the Board of Public Works held this day, I was instructed
to inform your Honorable Body that no proposition has yet
been submitted to that Board to exchange the State's inter-
est as stockholders and creditors in the Baltimore and Ohio
Railroad Company.

With great respect,

Your obedient servant,

THOS. SWANN,
President of the Board of Public Works.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Inter-
nal Improvements.

Mr. Bowie presented the memorial of J. Howard McHen-
ry and other citizens of Baltimore county, against any change
in the charter of the Baltimore and Potomac Railroad Com-
pany ;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Inter-
nal Improvements.
