Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The bill entitled, an Act to repeal section 6, of the 81st ar-
ticle of the Code of Public General Laws, title, revenue and
taxes, relating to the assessment and valuation of slaves;

Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The bill entitled, an Act to authorize and direct the State's
Attorney of Washington and Frederick counties, in the State
of Maryland, to institute the necessary legal proceedings in
the name of the State against the President, Managers and
Company of the Baltimore and Frederick Turnpike Road to
vacate and annul the charter of said Turnpike Company;

Was read the second time, and ordered to be engroseed for
a third reading.

Mr. Stirling, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
reported favorably a bill entitled, an Act to repeal the 232
section of article four, of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Baltimore city entitled, Fines and Forfeitures, and to re-enact
the same with amendments;

Which was read the first time.

The bill entitled, an Act to incorporate the Washington
Temperance and Literary Association of Baltimore;

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The bill entitled, an Act to add additional sections to the
thirtieth article of the Code of Public General Laws entitled,
Crimes and Punishments, providing for the punishment o^'
certain offences relating to public offices ;

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The bill entitled an act to amend and re-enact section 22d
of an act to repeal article seventy-one of the code of Public
General Laws entitled, "Oysters" regulating the taking and
catching Oysters within this State and to re-enact the same
with amendments thereto;

Was, on motion of Mr, Mackall, referred to the Committee
on the Chesapeake and its tributaries.

The bill entitled an act to add additional sections to the
30th article of the Public General Laws entitled, Crimes and
Punishments, providing for the punishment of certain offences
relating to public offices;

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The Senate adjourned untill Monday morning at 11 o'clock.
