at January session, 1853, ch. 153, as provides, thatif the said
road shall not be commenced in six years from the passage of
the said act, and shall not be finished in four years from the
commencement thereof, then the said Act to be null and void,
be, and the same is hereby repealed.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That if the railroad in-
corporated by the Act to which this is amendatory, shall not
be commenced on or before the 10th of March, 1860, and
shall not be finished in four years thereafter immediately suc-
ceeding, then the said Act and the privileges therein granted
shall cease, and be in all respects null and void.

SEC. 1. Be it enacted, &c., That the second section of the
act passed at January session, 1856, ch. 327, entitled an Act
amendatory of an Act passed January session, 1853, ch. 153,
entitled an Act to incorporate the Baltimore and Potomac
Railroad Company, be, and is hereby repealed.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That if the railroad au-
thorized to be made and constructed by the said act, passed
at January session, 1853, ch. 153, entitled, an Act to incor-
porate the Baltimore and Potomac Railroad Company, shall
not be commenced on or before the 10th of March, in the
year 1870, and shall not be completed within four years from
its commencement, then the said last mentioned act, and the
powers and privileges therein granted, shall cease, and be in
all respects null and void.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this act shall take
effect from and after the date of its passage.

Passed March 8, 1860.
SEC. 1. Be it enacted, &c., That the Baltimore and Ohio
Railroad Company be, and they are hereby, authorized and
empowered, if at any time hereafter they may deem it advan-
tageous to their company to do so, to subscribe to the capital
stock of the Baltimore and Potomac Railroad Company.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That a majority of the
directors in the Baltimore and Potomac Railroad Company
shall be citizens of the county through which the said road
shall pass.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the day of its passage.
