Laws entitled, Revenue and Taxes, and relating to tax on
Executors and Administrators Commissions, was

On motion of Mr. Tome,
Laid over informally.

The bill entitled, an Act to incorporate the Maryland and
New York Steam Transporation Company ;
Being under consideration.
Mr. Tome submitted the following amendment:

Fourth section, 12th line, after the word "Maryland," in-
sert the words "or United States."

Which was read and adopted.
On motion by Mr. Henkle,

The rules were suspended, and the bill read the third
time by special order, three-fourths concurring, and passed
by yeas and nays as follow:

The Clerk of the House of Delegates delivered the follow-
ing message and resolutions:

BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,

March 1st, 1867.
Gentlemen of the Senate:

We have adopted the accompanying resolutions on the com-
munication of His Excellency, Thomas Swann, declining the
office of United States Senator, and respectfully ask your con-
currence therein.

On the part of this House we have appointed Messrs. Jones
and Hammond, to join the gentleman who may be named by
your Honorable Body, to compose the committee contem-
plated by the third resolution.
