Which was read.

The hour of 1 1/4 having arrived, the Senators proceeded to
the Hall of the House of Delegates.

After a time the Senators returned and resumed the con-
sideration of Legislative business.

The question recurred upon the motion of Mr. Tome to
postpone the further consideration of laid bill until to-morrow.

On the question being put, it was
Determined in the negative.

The question recurring upon the adoption of the amend-
ment of Mr. Tome, to strike out "five," and insert three;"

On the question being put, it was

a third reading.

The bill entitled, an Act to appropriate a sum of money to
pay R. A. Clarke and James H. Alvey, tax collectors of St.
Mary's county, for over payments into the Treasury,

Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The bill was then read the third time by special order,
three-fourths concurring, and passed by yeas and nays as fol-
