present said memorial. We respectfully invite your Honor-
able Body to be present.

Which was read
Mr. Vickers submitted the following message :

BY THE SENATEj

February 26, 1867.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates:

We have received your message inviting us to unite with
the House of Delegates, to receive the committee of five
hundred citizens of Baltimore, on the floor of the House to-
day, appointed at a public meeting held in Baltimore city, to
memorialize the General Assembly on subjects of vital im-
portance to the city and State, and will cordially unite with
you in said object, and concur with you in the appointment
of a committee of five, to consist of two from the Senate and
three from the House of Delegates, to conduct said committee
to the Hall of the House at half past 12 o'clock to-day. We
have appointed on the part of the Senate, Messrs. Vickers
and Earle.

A. GASSAWAY,
Secretary.

Which was read, assented to, and sent to the House of
Delegates.

The President and Senators then proceeded to the chamber
of the House of Delegates.

The Senators at 1 o'clock, P. M., returned to the Senate
chamber and resumed the consideration of the Legislative
business.

The Senate resumed the reading of the report of the mi-
nority of the committee in relation to the Baltimore and
Potomac Railroad company;

On motion by Mr. Earle,
The Senate was called;

The Sergeant-at-Arms was sent to inform the absent Sena-
tors ihat their presence was required in the Senate Chamber.

On motion by Mr. Jump,
