Answer, I did not see them interfere with any one.
6th Question. How long were you at the polls ?
Answer. Some two hours.

Cross-examined by Mr. Brown.

1st Question. Did you ever present yourself to be registered
before September, 1866 ?

Answer. I did not.

2d Question. Why did you not register before?

Answer. Because I had said I would not register before the
old Board.

3d Questibn. Why did the Judges refuse your vote ?

Answer. Two of the three Judges said they had nothing
against me; they never asked me to take any oath, and rejected
my vote without assigning any reason.

Deposition No 5.

FREDERICK P. SAUCER, being duly sworn, deposed and said
as follows, to wit:

By Mr Devecmo1st Question. What is your name, age, residence and occu-
pation ?

Answer. My name is Frederick P. Saucer; age, 40; resi-
idence in Disirict No. 10, Allegany county; resided there 7
years past; occupation a farmer.

2d Question. Were you a registered voter prior to Nov.
6th, 1866?

Answer. I was registered last September.

3d Question. Did you attend the election in District No.
10, Allegany county, on Nov. 16th, 1866, and did you offer
a ticket as yonr ballot to the Judges of Election, and did
they accept or reject it; and whose names were on your bal-
lot as Candidates for the House of Delegates ?

Answer. I did attend said election; offered my ticket to
said Judges; they rejected my ticket; the names of the par-
ties on my ticket as such candidates were, Patrick Hammill,
William Devecmon, William A. Bryden, John EcElfish and
George W. McCulloh.

4th Question. Were there any armed men about the polls
on that day ?
