buildings of the Maryland Penitentiary for the accommoda-
tion of unemployed convicts, and to authorize the Governor
to purchase ground adjacent to said Penitentiary and to im-
prove the same.

On motion of Mr. Williams,

The bill was amended by striking out the second section.
The bill was then read a second time, and by special order
a 3d time and passed by yeas and nays as follow :
