Mr. Baker moved to strike out the 8th section.
Mr. Jones proposed the following amendment as a substi-
tute for Mr. Baker's:

Strike out the figure "8" and insert the figure "2."
Which was decided in the affirmative.

On motion of Mr. Jones,

The 9th section was amended by striking out the figure
"9" and inserting the figure "3."

On motion of Mr. Jones,

The 9th section was further amended by striking out the
word "three" in 2nd line, and inserting the word "two,"
and by striking out the words "previous to the said day of
election and" in lines two and three.

On motion of Mr. Jones,

The 10th section was amended by striking out the figures
"10" and inserting the figure "4."

On motion of Mr. Jones,

The 11th section was amended by striking out the figures
"11" and inserting the figure "5."

On motion of Mr. Jones,

The first section was amended by striking out the words
"fourth," "seventh," "fifteenth," sixteenth," "twentieth,"
and "twenty-sixth" in second line.
