Mr. Shipley proposed the following amendment:
After the word "Blunt," 2nd line, 1st section, strike out
all said section to the end of the 8th line and insert, "and
the heirs of Lemuel Offutt, shall be and are hereby invested
with full power to construct a Rail Road beginning at the
said Waltersville Granite Quarries, and running thence with
the bed of the old Rail Road, known by the name of the Put-
ney and Riddle Rail Road to intersect the Baltimore and
Ohio Rail Road at Putney and Riddle's switch;
Which was rejected by yeas and nays as follow :

Section 1. And be it enacted, That the said railway shall
be attached to the said Quarries, and any owners thereof
shall be allowed to purchase the said railway at a fair valua-
tion from the said Blunt when his right to the possession of
said Quarries shall cease;

Mr. Shipley proposed the following amendment :

And be it further enacted, That the said Blunt and his as-
sociates shall keep in order and make all necessary road cross-
ings, and ways to cross said Railroad;

Which was adopted.

The amendment proposed by Mr. Hammond, was then
adopted,

And the bill as amended,
