The bill being upon a second reading,
Mr. Devecmon proposed the following amendment as a sub-
stitute for the amendment previously offered by him :

Strike out all of the first section after the words "majority
of" in the 10th line, and insert, "the preferred bondhold-
ers, scripholders and judgment creditors of the Chesapeake
and Ohio Canal Company, each one hundred dollars, being
and shall be entitled to one vote in any meeting of the said
creditors, which may be held for the purpose of carrying out
the provisions of this bill."
