Maryland and Delaware Canal and Railroad Company.
Also, a bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Maryland
Metalic and Chemical Company of Baltimore.
Which were severally read a first time and referred to
Committee on Corporations.
Mr. Carmichael, Chairman Committee on Judiciary, re-
ported favorably without amendment the Senate bill entitled
an Act to repeal chapter 129 of the Acts of 1864, entitled an '
Act to add additional sections to the 44th article of the Code
of Public General Laws, title" Maryland Hospital," pre-
scribing an additional oath to be taken by the President,
Vice President and Visitors of the said hospital, and to reinstate
the former President, Vice President and Visitors of the said
hospital in office.
Also, the Senate bill entitled an Act to provide by law for
taking and perpetuating the evidence of the number of per-
sons held to labor and service in the State of Maryland, ,
and emancipated by the Constitution adopted in the year
1864, and by whom such persons were so held ;
Which were severally read a second time.
Mr. Waltemeyer, from Select Committee, reported favora-
bly without amendment the Senate bill entitled an Act to
provide for the measurement of oysters in Baltimore city ;
Which was read a second time.
The House then took up for consideration the regular order
of the day, being the bill entitled a supplement to the Act of
1853, chapter 194, entitled an Act .to incorporate the Balti-
more and Potomac Railroad Company, which

The further consideration thereof was informally postponed
until to-morrow, Marchj 19th.
The House then took up for consideration as unfinished
business,
The bill entitled an Act to authorize the Board of Public
Woiks to vote the stock of the State in the Chesapeake and
Ohio Canal Company for a President and four Directors upon
the nomination of the holders of the preferred bonds of said
Company.
Mr. Brydon moved that the further consideration of the
bill be postponed indefinitely ;
