Mr. Hooper presented a petition from citizens of Baltimore,
praying the Legislature for the purpose of obtaining clear
water in the city of Baltimore;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.

The Speaker appointed Mr. Knott on the Committe on
Federal Relations, in place of Mr. Thomas.

Mr. Stevens presented the memorial of Geo. C. M. Roberts
and others, asking the passage of a bill to to prevent unlaw-
ful abortion;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on the Ju-
diciary.

Mr Evans submitted the following Message:
