Mr. Neilson, Chairman of the Committee on the Militia,
reported favorably without amendment the Senate bill enti-
tled, an Act for the relief of Capt. R. Jones, of St. Mary's
county, from any responsibility to the State of Maryland for
the preservation of arms ;
Which was read a second time.
Mr. McCulloh, from the Committee on Corporations re-
ported favorably a bill entitled, an Act to incorporate the
Westernport Mutual Bridge Company ;
Mr. Bixler, Chairman of the Committee on Inspections,
reported favorably a bill entitled, an Act to repeal sections
474, 4?5, 476, 477, 478,479, 480, 481, 482, 483, 484 and
485 of Article 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws entitled,
"Lumber/' and to enact other sections in lieu thereof;
Which were severally read a first time.
Mr Neilson, from Select Committe reported favorably with-
out amendment, the Senate bill entitled, an Act to repeal sec-
tion 98 of Article 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws, title,
"City of Baltimore," sub-title, Auctioneers," and to re-enact
the same with amenments. :
Mr. Neale, from a Select Confmittee, reported favorably
without amendment the Senate bill entitled, an Act to incor-
porate the Methodist Episcopal Church in Queen Anne's
county, known as Ebenezer Church ;
Mr. Beck, from a Select Committee, reported favorably
without amendment the Senate bill entitled, an Act to incor-
porate Chester Lodge No. 115 of Ancient, Free and Accepted
Masons;
Which were severally read a first time.
Mr. Beck, from a Select Committee, reported favorably
without amendment, the Senate bill entitled, an Act to au-
thorize the Chester Bridge Company to pay over certain divi-
dends on the stock of W. B. Crane, deceased ;
Which was read a second time.
Mr. Neilson, from a Select Committee, reported favorably
a bill entitled, an Act to repeal sections 3, 5 and 9 of Article
703 of the Code of Public General Laws entitled, "Peniten-
tiary," and to enact other sections in lieu thereof;
Which was read a first time.
Also, a bill entitled, an Act to repeal section 457, chapter
29, of the Act of 1862, entitled, "Parks ;"
Which was read a first time and referred to the Committee
on the Judiciary.
