Said bills were then sent to the Senate.
Mr. Beck, from Select Committee, reported favorably,
without amendment, the Senate bill entitled, an Act to amend
the Charter of the Kent County Railroad Company, passed
January session, 1856, chapter 148, entitled, an Act to in-
corporate the Kent County Railroad Company, to secure the
completion of the said road by the issuing of additional bonds
of the Company, and to provide for the payment of the State
subscription for stock in the said company, and to waive the
State lien;
Also, the bill entitled, an Act to" incorporate the Still Pond
and Sassafras Wharf Company at Crews' Landing, in Kent
county, on Sassafras river ;
Also, the bill entitled, an Act to authorize and empower
the County Commissioners of Kent county to subscribe In
behalf of said county to the capital stock of the Kent County
Railroad Company, to issue bonds for the same, and to pro-
vide for their redemption;
Also, the Mil entitled, an Act to empower and authorize
the,County Commissioners of Kent county to erect an alms-
house in said county, and to provide for the payment of the
same;
Which were severally read a second time.
Mr. Boswell, (the rules being suspended,) from Select Com-
mittee, reported favorably a bill entitled, an Act to constitute
eight hours a legal day's work in the State of Maryland
Which was read a first time.
