On motion of Mr. Neilson,

The House took up for consideration the bill entitled,
an Act to repeal sections 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12, of
chapter 37 of the Acts of Assembly of January session
1866, entitled, an Act to encourage and facilitate immigra-
tion to the State of Maryland, and enact other sections in
the place of the section so repealed;

Said bill being upon its second reading,

The question recuring upon the amendment proposed by
Mr. King, viz : .

In line two after the word "section" insert 'one;"
Which was rejected.
The bill as amended,

Was then read a second time, and ordered to be engrossed
for a third reading.

Mr. Neilson moved a suspension of the rules, to read the
bill the third time,

Which was not sustained.
On motion of Mr. Bruce,

The rules, being suspended,

The House took up for a consideration.

The bill entitled, an Act to pay certain outstanding debts,
against the National Road;

Said bill being upon a second reading,

The- bill was then read a second time and ordered to be en-
grossed for a third reading.

And on motion of Mr. Bruce,

Was read a third time and passed by yeas and nays as fol-
