favorably a bill entitled, an Act to provide an efficient Board
of School Commissioners, in the city of Baltimore;
Which was read a first time.
Mr. McCulley, from Select Committee reported favorably
a bill entitled, an Act to authorize and require the County
Commissioners of Allegany county, to levy an additioaal
school tax, as provided for in section 5, of the 8th Article of
the Constitution of this State.
Mr. Hall, from Select Committee, reported favorably a bill
entitled, ati Act to change the name of Singleton Mercer
Owens to Singleton Mercer Foggett;
Which were severally read a first time.
Mr. Ford, from Select Committee, reported unfavorably a
bill entitled, an Act to authorize and require the Commis-
sioners of Baltimore county, to levy a sum of money for the
payment of the National Union Bank, of Maryland, at Balti-
more, of the balance of a debt due said bank, contracted by
the Commissioners of Public Free Schools in the First Elec-
tion District of Baltimore county; under the Act of 1832,
chapter 287;
Which was read a first time.
Mr. Clarke, from majority of Select Committee, made an
unfavorable report upon the Senate bill entitled; an Act to
restrict swine from running at large in the twelfth district in
Baltimore County.

entitled, an Act to incorporate the Western Run Turnpike
Company.
Mr. Brydon, from Select Committee, reported favorably
without amendment the Senate bill entitled, an Act requiring
and authorizing the Commissioners of Allegany county, to
levy for the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Allegany county a
certain sum of money.
Mr. Burche, from Select Committee, reported favorably
without amendment the Senate bill entitled, an Act to in-
corporate the Town of Povlesville in Montgomery county;
