of Article 47, of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled,
Inheritance, and to re-enact the ssme with an amendment;
Which were severally read a first time.

Also, reported favorably, (without amendment,) the Senate
bill entitled, an Act to amend the 28th Article of the Code
of Public General Laws, title "Draining Lands,' by adding
thereto additional sections;

Also, the Senate bill entitled, an Act to authorize and re-
quire the State Treasurer on the warrant of the Comptroller,
to pay the Court cost in the various suits instituted or pen-
ding in the courts of this and the Supreme Court of the United
States, to test the validity of the Registry Law;

Which were severally read a second time.

Mr. Stevens, from Committee on the Judiciary, reported
favorably a bill entitled, an Act to repeal sub-section two of
section five, enacted as part of the fifth section of the 37th
Article of the Code of Public General Laws, relating to the
competency of witnesses by the Act of 1854, chapter 109, and
to enact another provision in lieu thereof;

Mr. Davis, of Baltimore city, reported favorably without
amendment, the Senate bill entitled, an Act to compensate
David C. Blocker, and J. W. Bryant, Esq., for services ren-
dered the State in prosecution in the cases of State, vs. Wm.
B. Paca and Sons, for the murder of John P. Paca, W. and
Alfred Jones.

Also, the bill entitled, an Act to appropriate a sum of
money for services rendered the State by Luther H. Gadd, in
the adjustment and payment of claims for bounty to volun-
teers, under the Acts for 1864, providing for the payment of
bounty to volunteers.

Also, a bill entitled, an Act to appropriate a sum of money
to pay George W. Morgan, David Clark, and the heirs of
James G. Alnutt, Tobacco Commissioner.

Mr. Nicolai, Chairman Committee on Corporations reported
favorably without amendment the Senate bill entitled, an Act
to incorporate the Maryland Central Railroad Company;
Which were severally read a second time.

Mr. Whitaker, from' Select Committee, reported favora-
bly a bill entitled, an Act to repeal sections 91, 92, 93, 94,
and 95, of Article 8 of the Code of Public Local Laws for
Cecil county relating to fences.

Which was read a first time,

Mr. Neilson, from a Select Committee, reported favorably
a bill entitled, an Act to repeal sub-sections, 179 and 180
with section 2, of chapter 66, of January session, 1866, and
to re-enact the same with amendments.

Which was read a first time and ordered to be printed.
