The vote by which,
The bill entitled, an Act to provide for the selection, draw-
ing and summoning of Juries in the several counties, and
prescribing their qualification;
Was ordered to be engrossed for a third reading;
Was reconsidered,
And the bill reconsidered to a second reading,
Pending which,
Mr. Carmichael proposed the following amendments:
Section 1, in the fourth line, after the word "counties,"
strike out to the word "a" in 7th line, "not less than 20 days
before the beginning of the first regular term of said courts,
next ensuing the passage of this Act;
Section 7. And be it enacted, That before the drawing of
any new panel of Jurors from the tax lists and poll books,
as provided in the first and second sections of this Act, it
shall be the duty of the said courts to have the box in which
the names of the Jurors have been deposited, to be empted of
any and all the ballots therein remaining;
Section 8. And be it enacted, That if the provision of this
Act shall conflict with the appointments of existing law for
