BY THE SENATE,

February 26, 1867.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates:

We have received your message inviting us to unite with
the House of Delegates to receive the Committee of five hun-
dred citizens of Baltimore, on the floor of the House to day,
appointed at a public meeting held in Baltimore city [to
memorialize the General Assembly, on subjects of vital im-
portance to the city and State, and will cordially unite with
you in said object, and concur with you in the appointment
of a Committee of five to consist of two from the Senate and
three from the House of Delegates to conduct said Committee
to the Hall of the House at half past 12 o'clock to day.

We have appointed on the part of the Senate, Messrs.
Vickers and Earle.

Which was read and concurred in.

Also, returned the bill entitled, an Act to incorporate the
Baltimore Chrome Works;

Also, the bill entitled, an Act to pay Augustus Gassaway,
and Robert Vinton Clayton, a sum of money for services
rendered in removing, re-wrapping and re-arranging papers
and records belonging to the office of the clerk of the Court
of Appeals of Maryland;

Also, the bill entitled, an Act to extend and continue in
force the charter of the Manchester Savings Institution.

Severally endosed, "pissed by yeas and nays.

Also, delivered the bill entitled, an Act to repeal section 9
of the Act of January session, 1866, chapter 109, incorporat-
ing the Union Railroad Company of Baltimore, and re-enact-
ing the same with amendments; and also to add additional
sections thereto;

Which was read a first time and referred to the Committee
on the Judiciary.

The following message from the Executive was delivered
by Peter Leary, Esq., Private Secretary :
