Also, a bill entitled, an Act to authorize the County Com-
missioners of Kent county to convey to John Haddeway and
others of said county, a portion of a landing on Chester river,
in Quaker Neck;

Which were severally read a first time and referred to the
Committee on the Judiciary.

On motion of Mr. Jones,
The rules being suspended,

Leave was granted the Somerset delegation to report a bill
to be entitled, an Act to repeal section 65, of Article 19 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Somerset county, relating
to Justices of the Peace and Constables, and to amend and
re-enact the same.

On motion of Mr. Jump,

The House took up for consideration the Senate bill enti-
tled, an Act to provide for the payment of the officers of reg-
istration of this State, their officers and expenses;

Said bill being upon its third reading;
Pending which,

The hour having arrived for taking up the order of the day,

Being a bill entitled, an Act to create a Board of Commis-
sioners to keep open the harbor of Baltimore and the access
thereto from obstruction by ice, and for harbor and river re-
lief.

On motion of Mr. Thomas,
It was postponed until Wednesday, Feb. 20, at 1 o'clock.

The House then resumed the consideration of the bill en-
titled, an Act to provide for the payment of the Officers of
Registration of this State, their officers and expenses;

Pending which,

Mr. Gorsuch proposed the following amendment:

Strike out all after the word "Registers," in 18th line, 1st
section;

Which was rejected.

Mr. Burche proposed the following amendment :

In line 4, section 2, insert after "Registration," "who in
their opinion had performed their duty in accordance with the
law;"

Which was rejected.
