Said bill was then sent to the Senate.

Mr. Parsons from a Select Committee reported favorably a
bill entitled, an Act to repeal section 43 of the Public Gen-
eral Laws entitled, Mechanic's Lien and to re-enact the same
with amendments.

Mr. Aydelott from Select Committee reported favorably a
bill entitled, an Act to create the office of Lumber Inspector
and Wood Corder for the Pocomoke river;

Which were severally read a first time.

Mr. Whitaker from a Select Committee reported favorably
without amendment the Senate bill entitled, an Act to add
a new section to Article 8 of the Code of Public Local Laws,
relating to the powers of the President and Commissioners of
the village of Port Deposit;

Which was read a second time.

Mr. Carmichael from Select Committee reported favorably
without amendments the Senate bill entitled, an Act'to require
drovers passing through Kent county, to have their cattle
marked, and authorize the sale of cattle found unmarked
that may be found in droves;

Which was read a second time.

Mr. Carmichael, Chairman of Committee on the Judiciary,
reported favorably without amendment the Senate bill en-
titled, an Act to repeal the Act of January session, 1864,
chapter 282, entitled, an Act to add the following sections to
the 40th Article of Public General Laws, requiring jurors to
take the oath of allegiance.

Also, the Senate bill entitled, an Act to repeal the follow -
ng sections of the Code of Public General Laws, title
"Crimes and Punishments," to wit, sections 69, 70, 71, and
72, sub-title "importing convicts or slaves ;" sections 75 and
77j sub-title "incendiary and obscene publications;" sections
94, 95, 96 and 97, sub-title "kidnapping;" section 128, sub-
title "marrying unlawfully," sections 141, sub-title "mur-
der;" sections 146, 147, 148, 149, and 150 sub-title "ne-
groes,' sections 153 and 154, sub-title "passes to negroes;"
section 168, sub-title "religious meeting;" sections 174, 175,
176, and 177, sub-title "runaways;"

Which were severally read a second time.
