Mr. Pitts, from a Select Committee, reported favorably a
bill entitled, an Act to incorporate the town Berlin in Wor-
cester county;

Which were severally read a first time.
On motion of Mr. Boswell,

The House took up for consideration the bill entitled, an
Act to pay A. Lingan Jarrett the balance of his salary as
late Comptroller of the Treasury;

Said bill being upon its second reading,

On motion of Mr. Boswell,
The rules were suspended,
And the bill reconsidered to a second reading.
Mr. Boswell proposed the following amendment:

Strike out the words "three thousand six hundred and
eighty-five," and insert "four thousand nine hundred and
three dollars and sixty cents;"

Pending the consideration of which,

The time to which the consideration of the order of the
day was postponed, having arrived,

The House resumed the consideration' of the order of the
day,

Being the majority and minority reports of the Committee
on Elections to the right of the sitting members to a seat in
this House;

The question being on the motion of Mr. Ford for the pre-
vious question,

Pending which,
