GENTLEMEN.
In reply to the order of your Honorable Body passed on
the 2nd, instant, in the following words, viz:
Ordered, that the Committee on Corporations be and they
are hereby authorized and empowered to enquire of the Cum-
berland and Pennsylvania Railroad Company, and of the Con-
solidation Coal Company, under what charter they or either
of them work the line of railroad running from Cumberland,
viz: Frostburg, Mount Savage, and Lonaconing to Piedmont,
and whether said railroad is worked in accordance with the
provisions of its charter.
And the said Cumberland and Pennsylvania Railroad Com-
pany, and the Consolidation Coal Company, are hereby re-
