Which was read and referred to the Select Committee on
Sunday Law.

Mr. Wampler, presented a remonstrance of H. L. Norris
and 150 other citizens of Carroll county, against any legisla-
tion whereby the existing restrictions for the observance of
Christian Sabbath would be relaxed;

Which was read and referred to the Select Committee on
Sunday Law.

Mr. Waltemeyer presented a memorial of S. B. Sexton,
Charles Rittenhouse and others, praying for a charter for the
Gwynn's Falls Bridge Company of the Washington Road.

Which was read and referred to Baltimore county delega-
tion and 3d legislative district delegation Baltimore city.

Also, a memorial of citizens of Baltimore, engaged in the
oyster packing, against the measurement of oysters in sealed
half bushels;

Which was read and referred to Messrs. Waltemeyer, Bos-
well, Lankford, Lindsey and Kerr.

The Speaker laid before the House the following response
of the Comptroller :

Annapolis, February 14th, 1867.
HON. OLIVER MILLER,

Speaker of the House of Delegates :

SIR :—In compliance with an order, passed by the House,
on the 13th instant. I herewith submit a statement showing
the dates of the payments from the Baltimore and Ohio Rail-
road, on account of Capitation Tax, which are embraced in
the fiscal year ended September 30th, 1866, and showing
what portion of said receipts had accrued prior to 1866.

All of which is very respectfully submitted,
