Was reconsidered.

The order was then adopted.

The House then resumed the consideration of the order of
the day, being

A bill entitled, an Act to repeal the Act' of 1865, chapter
174, entitled, an Act relating to the registration of the voters
of the State, and to enact other provisions relating to the
registration of voters in lieu thereof,

Pending which,

Mr. Evans proposed the following amendment.

Fill the blank in the bill with the words "May and Sep-
tember;"

Which was adopted.

On motion of Mr. Aydelott,

The vote by which the amendment proposed by Mr. Evans
was adopted,
Was reconsidered.
Mr. Evans proposed the following amendment:

Fill the blank with the words, "the second Monday in
March and the third Wednesday in July."

Mr. Aydelott proposed the following amendment:
So amend as to require the officers to meet on Tuesday and
Wednesday in each month, from March to September, inclu-
sive, fourteen days;

Which was rejected.

The question then recurring upon the amendment pro-
posed by Mr. Evans,
It was adopted.
Mr. Evans proposed the following :

After "county," in 5th section, 11th line, insert "leaving
a newspaper, said paper;"

Which was adopted.
Mr. Baker proposed the following .

Section 5, second line, after the word "convenient," insert
the word "central."
Which was adopted.

On motion of Mr. Miller (Mr. Jones being in the chair),

The vote by which the amendment proposed by Mr. Evans,
to fill the blanks with the words "the second Monday in
March and the third Wednesday in July,"

Was reconsidered.
