meyer, Feig, Bixler, Pitts, Aydelott, Gordy, Nelson, Wilson,
Spicer, Gilpin, McCulley, Haller, Bruce, Neale, Bentou,
Poole, Criswell, Wampler, Gore, Horsey, King, Ham-
mond—60.

Mr. Haller presented a petition of 70 citizens of Election
Districts No. 6 and 13, in Allegany county, for a division of
said District so as to create one or more new Election Dis-
tricts.

Which was read and referred to the Allegany delegation.

Mr. Baker presented a petition of William Devilbiss and
eighty others, citizens of Frederick and Carroll counties, pray-
ing the construction of a new public road in said counties;

Which was read and referred to delegations from Frederick
and Garroll counties;

Mr. Clarke presented a petition of T. E. Cozey and fifty
other citizens of Baltimore county, praying a law may be en-
acted to prevent stock running at large in Baltimore county;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Agri-
culture.

Mr. Aydelotte presented a petition of 38 citizens of Wor-
cester county, asking for the passage of a law to protect the
Hotels in said county;

Which was read and referred to Worcester county delega-
tion.

Mr. Calvert presented the petition of 147 citizens of Prince
Georges' county, praying the passage of a bill to abolish gates
on Public Highways, asking that three years be allowed for
that purpose, and that a tax of five dollars be levied on each
gate on a public highway for the benefit of public roads;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Roads
and Highways.

Mr. Hall presented the petition from B. Alien Welch and
63 other citizens of Anne Arundel county, against any modi-
fication or change in the Charter of the Baltimore and Poto-
mac Railroad;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Internal
Improvements.

Mr. Stciner presented the petition of Edward Spedden,
agent of John Hinesly, for payment of a claim for services
rendered the State;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Claims.

The Speaker laid before the House, the petition of the Re-
demptorist Fathers in Baltimore, asking that their Parish
schools in Baltimore city be exempted from taxation;
