on Elections to the right of the sitting members from Alle-
gany to a seat in this House,

Pending which,

Mr. Phelps moved to postpone the further consideration
thereof until Thursday.

Mr. Appleman moved as a substitute to postpone all further
consideration of the reports, and make them the order of the
day for the 25th day of March next,

Pending the consideration of which,

On motion of Mr. Thomas a call of the House was or-
dered, and the following members responded to their names ,

Messrs. Miller, (Spkr.,) Williams, Clarke, Cameron, Hutch-
ins, Ford, Shipley, Thomas, Jones, Dennis, Phelps, Evans,
Lindsey, Rouzer, Buhrman, Baker, Linthicum, Gorsuch,
Steiner, Bamford, Appleman, Tobey, Hoffhine, Bishop, Hut-
ton, Burche, Turner, Knott, Lankford, Boswell, Thomson,
Pitts, Nelson, Whiteford, Wilson, Spicer, Gilpin, McCuIley,
Nealc, Benton, Poole, Criswell, Wampler, Gore, Horsey—45.

On motion of Mr. Neale,

The Sergeant-at-Arms was ordered to notify the absent
members and bring them before the bar of the House.

After some time the Sargeant-at-Arms returned and re-
ported that he had brought before the bar of the House all
the absent members now in the city.

On motion of Mr. Gorsuch,

All further proceedings under the call were dispensed with.

Mr. Ford moved the previous question,

Which was sustained.

The question then being,

"Shall the previous question be now put?"

It was concurred in.

The question then recurring upon the motion of Mr. Ap-
pleman to postpone the consideration of the order of the day
until the 25th of March next;

It was decided in the negative.

The question then recurring upon the motion of Mr. Phelps
to postpone the order of the day until Thursday next at one
o'clock;

It was decided in the negative by _ eas and nays as fol-
low:
