348 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Feb. 11,

The bill entitled, an Act to prevent the sale of liquor with-
in two miles of the town of Keediesville, Washington
county,

Being upon its second reading,

Mr. Neilson moved to postpone the consideration of the bill
informally;

Mr. Stevens moved the previous question ;

Which was sustained;

The question then being,

" Shall the previous question be now put ?"

It was sustained.

The question then recurring upon the motion of Mr. Neil-
son to postpone informally,

It was lost.

The question then recurred upon the second reading of the
bill;

Pending which,

Mr. Neale proposed the following amendment:

After the word "county" in 1st section, insert "or the
City of Annapolis;"

Mr. Nicolai proposed the following amendment:

Insert "Washington county," after the word "Annapolis,"

Which was lost.

The question then recurring upon the amendment proposed
by Mr. Neale;

It was lost.

Mr. Stevens proposed the following amendment:

After the word "county," insert "or Baltimore City;"

Which was lost.

The question then recurring upon the bill;

Mr. Neilson moved to .strike out the enacting clause,

Which was lost.

Mr. Burche proposed the following amendment:

After the words "spirituous liquors," insert the words "in
quantities not less than a pint;"

Which was reiected by yeas and nays as follow:
