Present at the call of the roll, the following members:
Messrs. Miller, Speaker, Morgan, Beck, Hall, Cameron, Ford,
Davis, of Charles, Thomas, Dennis, Parsons, Phelpa, Kerr,
Evans, Lindsey, Magruder, Calvert, Rpuzer, Buhrman, Baker,
Linthicum, Gorsuch, Steiner, Bamford, Appleman, Hoffhine,
Bishop, Hutton, Burche, Neilson, Flaherty, Robson, Hooper,
Knott, Stevens, Feig, Bixler, Pitts, Gordy, Nelson, White-
ford, Wilson, Spicer, Gilpin, McCulley, Haller, Bruce, Mc-
Culloh, Neale, Benton, Poole, Wampler, Horsey, King, Ham-
mond—54.

The Journal of yesterday was read and approved.
On motion of Mr. Neilson,

(Two-thirds of all the members present voting in the affir-
mative,)

The rules were suspended,

And all other business postponed, and the House
took up for consideration the order of the day, being the .ma-
jority and minority reports of the Committee on Elections
upon the right of the sitting members from Allegany county
to a seat in this House.

Pending the consideration of which,
On motion of Mr. Knott,

The further consideration of the order of the day was post-
poned until Tuesday next.

Mr. Hammond presented the petition of 92 residents of
Ellicott's mills, praying that the same may not be incorpo-
rated ;

Which was read and referred to the Baltimore and Howard
County delegations.

Also, the petition of Nathaniel Poter and wife, praying
that a certain judgment may be revived by an act of Assem-
bly ;

Which was read and refered to Committee on Judiciary.

Mr. Beck presented a remonstrance from citizens of Kent
county against any change in the Sunday law ;

Which was read and referred to the Select Committee on
Sunday Law.

On motion of Mr. Evans,

Leave was granted Cecil County delegation to introduce a
bill to abandon and close the public road at Gilpin's Ford,
in Cecil county.

On motion of Mr. Neale,

(The Rules being suspended,)

Ordered, That Mr. Welch have leave of absence for two
days.
