that Mr, Whitaker, of Cecil, is detained from occupying his
seat by sickness.

On motiaa of Mr. Shipley.

Ordered, That after this House adjourns this evening, that
Mr. Shipley be excused until Tuesday morning next, to visit
his family on important business.

Mr. Beck offered the following :

Ordered, That the debate on the Allegany contested elec-
tion case be limited to forty-five minutes to all, except sitting
members from Allegany.

Mr. Lankford moved to lay the order on the table;
Which was not sustained.

The question then recurring upon the adoption of the
order,

On motion of Mr. Baker,
It was indefinitely postponed.

Mr. Wilson offered the following :

Ordered, That the committee appointed to attend the fu-
neral of the Hon. Henry S. Magraw, be paid five dollars a day
for four days, extra of their per diem ;

Which was adopted.

Mr. Gorsuch offered the following :

Ordered, That the use of this hall be granted to General
Howard of the Freedmen's Bureau, (and the Hon. Hugh L.
Bond, Judge of the Criminal Court of Baltinore city,) on
next Thursday evening, at 8 o'clock P. M., to deliver lectures
explaining the objects of the Freedman's Aid Society :

Mr. Coleman moved to lay the order on the table;

Which was lost by yeas and nays as follow :
