Said bill was then sent to the Senate.

On motion of Mr. Clark, (the rules being further sus-
ended,)

Ordered, That the Special Committee appointed to examine
and report upon the Blind Asylum, have leave to go upon
that duty after the session of the House on to-morrow, (Fri-
day)

. On motion of Mr. Boswell, (the rules being yet farther
suspended,)

Ordered, That had Frederick S. Turner been present on
yesterday when the vote was taken on the Convention bill,
he would have voted in the affirmative.

Mr, Jones, from the Committee on the Judiciary, (the rules
being yet farther suspended,) reported favorably a bill enti-
tled, an Act to repeal section six of Article 35 of the Code
of Public General Laws, relating to the attendance of Judges
of Elections, and section 9 of said Article prescribing the oath
of Judges of Elections, and section twelve of said Article
prescribing notice of elections to be given by the Sheriffs of
the several counties, and to enact a substitute for each of said
sections ;

Which was read a first time.

The joint resolution of Mr. Evans, in relation to the power
of the Legislature to alter and amend the organic constitu-
tional law of the State,

Being upon its second reading,

Mr. Gorsuch proposed the following amendment:

After the word "Legislature," "in the manner and form
prescribed by the existing Constitution;"

Which was rejected by yeas and nays as follow:
