in me by the Constitution of the State of Maryland, hereby
order and direct that an election for a delegate to represent
Cecil county in the House of Delegates be held at the places
designated by law in the several election districts of said
county to supply the vacancy existing in said office of Dele-
gate by reason of the death of the said Henry S. Magraw as
aforesaid, and you, the Sheriff of said county of Cecil, are
hereby directed, immediately upon the receipt of this warrant,
to appoint some day for the holding of said election, which
day shall be within twenty days after your receipt of this war-
rant; and you are directed to give public notice of the day
you may so appoint for at least ten days, exclusive of the day
of the publication of the notice and of the day of election, by,
advertisements set up at the most public places within the
said county jand also by advertisements published in two
newspapers of general circulation in said county : And you
are also hereby directed to serve a copy of this warrant, to-
gether with notice of the day by you appointed for the hold-
ing of said election on each of the Judges of Election in said
county at least three days before the day so appointed for said
election : for all of which this shall be your sufficient war-
rant.
In witness whereof, I have hereunto subscribed my
name and affixed the seal of the House of Dele

in the year of our Lord, eighteen hundred and
sixty-seven.

SIR : I have the honor to acknowledge, through you, the
receipt, this day, of the warrant of the Speaker of the House
of Delegates, directed to the Sheriff of Cecil county, for an
election for a member of said House, in the place of Hon.
Henry S. Magraw, deceased, which warrant has been duly
delivered to said Sheriff.
