On motion of Mr. Hallj

The rules were suspended, and the House took up for con-
sideration

The bill entitled, an Act to repeal the 27th, 28th and 29th
sections of the second Article of the Code of Public Local
Laws, and to enact another section in lieu thereof relating to
the sale of spirituous liquors to the paupers at the Alms
House in Anne Arundel county ;

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

On motion of Mr. Waltemeyer,

The House adjourned until to-morrow morning at eleven
o'clock, A. M.

THURSDAY, February 7, 1867.

The House met, and was opened with prayer by the Rev.
Mr. Hammond.

Present at the call of the roll, the following members :

Boswell, Thomson, Davis, of Baltimore city, Waltemeyer,
Feig, Bixler, Pitts, Gordy, Nelson, Whiteford, Wilson, Spi-
cer, Gilpin, McCulley, Haller, Bruce,, McCulloh, Carmichael,
Neale, Benton, Poole, Dawson, Horsey, King, Hammond—69.

The Journal of yesterday was read and approved.

Mr. Nicolai presented the petition of 36 operatives of Guil-
ford Factory, praying the passage of a bill protecting the la-
borers in said factory ;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Manu-
facturers.

Mr. Hoffhine presented the remonstrance of G. Warfield
and 105 others against running Sunday cars or relaxing Sun-
day Law;
