On motions of Mr. Phelps,
Leave was granted Messrs. Phelps, Kerr, and Jump, to
report a bill for the benefit of the Cambridge Female Acad-
emy.
On motion of Mr. Steiner,
Leave was granted the Committee on Corporations to introduce
a bill to authorize the construction of a railroad from Fred-
erick by the most eligible and practicable route through the
central portion of Montgomery county, to the District of Co-
lumbia, with authority also, to construct a branch road from
Frederick, northerly or northwesterly, to the Maryland and
Pennsylvania line.
On motion of Mr. Knott,
Leave was granted the Committee on Corporations to in-
troduce a bill to continue in existence the American Life In-
surance and Trust Company, so far as may be necessary to
enable it to collect any outstanding debts, and appropriate
the same according to law.
On motion of Mr. Benton,
Leave was granted the Committee on Corporations to report
a bill for the renewal of the charter of incorporation of the
town of New Windsor, in Carroll connty, passed at Decem-
ber session, 1843, chapter 47, repealing section 14th, and add-
ing an additional section in lieu thereof.
On motion of Mr. Knott.
Leave was granted the Committee on Corporations to
report a bill to incorporate the Beneficial Saving's Fund So-
ciety of Baltimore.
On motion of Mr. Clarke,
Leave was granted the Committee on Corporations to re-
port a bill to incorporate the Western Run Turnpike Com-
pany, in Baltimore county, to run from Black Rock Church,
to intersect the York Turnpike Road, three-fourths of a mile,
north of Cockeysville.
On motion of Mr. Dawson,
Leave was granted the Committee on Corporations to in-
troduce a bill entitled, an Act to incorporate the Greensbo-
rough Fruit Growing, Manufacturing and Agricultural Asso-
ciation.
