The unfavorable report, being the bill entitled, an Act to
repeal section 5th, and sub-section 2, of chapter 109, passed
January Session 1864, relating to the competency of witnes-
ses;

Was read a second time and recommitted to the Committee
on the Judiciary.

The unfavorable report, being the bill entitled an Act, to
amend Article 16 of the Code of Public General Laws, in re-
lation to divorces, by repealing section 25, and re-enacting the
same with amendments, and by adding sub-sections thereto,
to be inserted in said Code, after section 25;

Was read a second time.

Mr. King moved to strike out the enacting clause.

Mr. Stevens moved to re-commit the bill to the Committee
on the Judiciary,

Which was decided in the negative.

The question then recurring upon the motion of Mr. King
to strike out the enacting clause, it was

Decided in the affirmative.

The bill entitled an Act, to repeal an Act, passed at De-
cember session, 1864, chapter 129, adding additional sections
to the 44th Article of the Code of Public General Laws, title
"Maryland Hospital;"

A bill entitled an Act, to repeal section 2, of Article 82, of
the Code of Public General Laws, and to re-enact the same
with amendments ;

Which were severally read a second time, and ordered to
be engrossed for a third reading.

A bill entitled an Act to provide for the selection, drawing
and summoning of Juries in Washington, Frederick and
Carroll counties, and prescribing their qualification,

Being on its second reading, Mr. Gorsuch moved to recom-
mit the bill to the Committee on the Judiciary, with instruc-
tions to report a general bill;

Which was decided in the negative by yeas and nays as
follow:
