So it appeared that no person received a majority of all the
votes cast for Senator of the United States.

On motion of Mr. Jones,

The Joint Assembly was then adjourned to meet on Wed-
nesday at 12 o'clock.

A bill entitled, an Act to secure the completion of the
Wicomico and Pocomoke Railroad Company;

Was read a second time, and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

A bill entitled, an Act supplementary to the Act of 1866,
chapter 24, entitled, an Act to authorise the Commissioners
of the town of Havre-de-Grace to sell certain lots in said
town.

The bill entitled, an Act to authorise the trustees of the
Newtown Academy in Worcester county, to sell their build-
ing and grounds for a High School in the town of New
Town.

A bill entitled, an Act to incorporate Temple Lodge, num-
ber one hundred and twenty-eight, of Ancient, Free and Ac-
cepted Masons;

Were severally read a second time, and ordered to be en-
grossed for a third reading.

The Senate bill entitled, an Act to authorize the county
commissioners of Carroll county, to levy a sufficient sum of
money upon the assessable property of said county, to pay the
costs in the case of the State against Harriet and Marinda
Porter;

Was read the third time, and passed by yeas and nays as
follow:
