gates on the 16th inst, I have the honor to transmit herewith
copies of all the contracts and bills for printing, for the Gen-
eral Assembly of Maryland, from January Session 1860, to
Januaay Session 1862, inclusive.

The bonds and contracts for the Extra Session at Frederick
in 1861, and the bonds for. Extra December Session in 1861,
and the regular January Session in 1862, are not on file in
this office.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Prin-
ting.

Mr. Carmichael from the Committee on the Judiciary, re-
ported unfavorbly an Act to amend sections 74 and 75, of
Article 75, of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled,
pleading, practice and process, and to add a new section to
said Article, so as to better provide for the removal of causes;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Clark from the Committee on Claims, reported favor-
ably the following bills:

A bill entitled, an Act appropriating a sum of money to
pay Daniel R. Magruder Circuit Judge of the Second Judi-
cial Circuit for arrears of salary due him, and for costs in the
Circuit Court for Anne Arundel county, and in the Court of
Appeals.

A bill entitled, an Act to add an additional section to Ar-
ticle 3, of the Public Local Law, entitled Baltimore county,
relating to Roads and Bridges;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Aydelott trom a Select Committee reported favorably
a bill entitled, an Act to amend an Act to incorporate the
town of Newtown, in Worcester county, so as to strike out
section 8th of said Act and insert another section in lieu
thereof

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Parsons from a Select Committee reported favorably a
bill entitled, an Act for the protection of partridges in Som-
erset county, and to prohibit the killing of the same during
the night time;

Which was read the first time.
