county, four delegates; Anne Arundel county, four delegates;
and Washington county, six delegates;

Mr. Linthicum submitted the following amendment to the
amendment:,

That each county i n the State, and the city of Baltimore,
shall be entitled to the same number of Delegates in said
Convention as they now have in the Senate and House of Del-
egates.

Pending the consideration of which,

On motion of Mr. Thomas,
The House adjourned until to-morrow morning at 11 o'clock.

THURSDAY, January 17, 1867.

The House met, and was opened with prayer by the Rev.
Mr. Leech.

Present at the call of the roll the following members:

der, McCulley , McCulloh, Morgan, Neale, Neilson, Nelson, N ic-
olai, Parsons, Pitts, Poole, Rouzer, Shipley, Smith, Spicer,
Steiner, Stevecs, Thomas, Thomson, Tobey, Turner, Wal-
temeyer, Wampler, Whiteford, Whitaker, Williams, Wil-
son—74.

The Journal of yesterday was read and approved.

The Speaker laid before the House the report of John
Moorehead, Inspector of Tobacco at Warehouse No. 5, for
the years 1865 and 1866 ;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Inspec-
tions.

Mr. Stevens presented a petition from agents and dealers
in Leaf Tobacco in the city of Baltimore, for a reduction in
