Mr. Gorsuch moved to strike out the 3d section ;

Which was rejected.

The bill was then read the second time' and ordered to be
engrossed for a third reading.

The bill entitled, an Act to repeal 74th section of the 35th
Article of the Code of Public General Laws relating to the
election of United States Senator,

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The bill entitled, an Act to repeal the 4th, 7th, 15th, 16th
and 20th sections of the 4th Article of the Public Local Laws
of the city of Baltimore, relative to the qualification of elec-
tors in said city, and regulating the time for holding elections
for Mayor and members of the City Council, and the terms
of and the times for entering upon the duties of said office,
and to re-enact the same with amendments,

Was taken up for consideration on its second reading.
Mr. Lanktbrd submitted the following amendment:

In second line, section 7, after the word "be," strike out
$2,500 and insert "$3,000;"

Which was adopted.

Mr. Davis, of Charles, submitted the following amend-
ment :

Strike out all after the word "election," in the 7th line, to
"property," in the 8th line ;

Which was rejected.

Mr. Knott, submitted the following amendment:

That this Act shall take effect from and after the date
of its passage;

Which was adopted.

A bill entitled, an Act to provide for the speedy hearing by
the Court of Appeals of the case of School Commissioners of
Baltimore city, versus the State Board of Education;

Was read a second time, and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

On motion of Mr. Stevens,

The rules were suspended, and the bill, by special order,
read a third time, and passed by yeas and nays as follow :
