of Tobacco Warehouse No. 2, in the city of Baltimore, for
services.

Also leave was granted to the Committee on Judiciary to
introduce a bill suspending the operation of the assessment
made in 1866, in the city of Baltimore, on real estate until
1870, and until some future action of the General Assembly.

On motion of Mr. Williams,

Leave was granted the Committee on Claims to introduce a
bill to pay Hon. Daniel R. Magruder, Judge of the Second
Judicial Circuit, arrearage of salary, and costs incurred by
him in establishing his claims to said judgeship.

On motion of Mr. Toby,

Leave was granted the Washington county delegation to
report a bill to allow Robert H. Boteler, to have a deed re-
corded in the clerk's office of Washington county.

Mr. Carmichael from the Committee on the Judiciary re-
ported favorably Senate bill entitled, an Act to add addi-
tional sections to Article - of the Code of Public General Laws,
supplemental volume 2, title small pox.

Which was read the second time.

The Secretary of the Senate delivered the following bill:

A bill entitled, an Act to incorporate the Chester River
Steam Boat Company;

Endorsed, "passed by yeas and nays," with proposed amend-
ments:

AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

In the 5th section and the second line, strike out the words
"James Merrick."

In the same section, line 9, strike out the words "James
Merrick;"

The amendments were concurred in, and the bill passed by
yeas and nays as follows:
