Which was read, assented to, and sent to the Senate.
On motion of Mr. Nelson,

Ordered, That it be entered on the Journal that Mr. White-
ford, had he been present, would have voted for the resolutions
endorsing President Johnson and Governor Swann.

On motion of Mr. Carmichael,

Ordered, That the Committee on the Judiciary, be instruct-
ed to inquire into the condition of the reports of the Court of
Appeals, and to report if any Legislation on the subject is
necessary.

On motion of Mr. Davis, of Baltimore city;

Leave was granted the Committee on Claims to report a
bill.to pay John H. B. Latrobe, William Schley and John
M. Frazier, for investigation of the case of the late Police Com-
missioners of Baltimore city.

On motion of Mr. Nicolai,

Leave was granted the Committee on Judiciary to report a
bill to make valid the official acts of the Justices of the Peace for
the several counties of the State, and the city of Baltimore,
appointed by Governor Bradford, in the months of December
1865 and January 1866, whose appointments were declared
invalid by the Court of Appeals.

On motion of Mr. Davis, of Baltimore city,

Leave was granted the Committee on Claims to report a
bill for the relief of Registers of Baltimore city, for 1866.

On motion of Mr. Williams,

Leave was granted the Committee on Judiciary to report a
bill to provide for the pay of bailiffs to the Circuit Courts, in
the counties of this State.

On motion of Mr. Wilson,

Leave was granted Messrs. Wilson, Thomson and Came-
ron to report a bill to repeal the 74th section of the 35 Article
of the Code of Public General Laws.

On motion of Mr. Pitts,

Leave was granted the Worcester county delegation to re-
port a bill entitled, an Act to change the name of Ellenor
Kate Purnell, of Worcester county to Emma Catharine Pur-
nell.

Mr. Nicolai from a Select Committee, submitted the follow-
ing report:

The Special Committee to whom was referred the duty of
distributing to appropriate committees, the several subjects
considered in the Governor's, Message, respectfully report the
following references;
