FRIDAY, February 8, 1867.

The President laid before the Senate a counter-memorial of
the President of the Baltimore and Potomac Rail Rail Com-
pany, to the memorial of the President and Directors of the
Baltimore and Ohio Rail Road Company;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Internal
Improvements, and
Ordered to be printed.

Mr. Kimmel presented the memorial of John Emmet and
349 others, for the repeal or modification of the Sunday Law,
particularly as applied to confectioners ;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Judicial
Proceedings.

Mr. Stephenson presented the memorial of Wm. F. Bayless
and 29 other citizens of Harford county, remonstrating-
against any modification in the Sunday law ;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Judicial
Proceedings.

Mr. Compton presented the memorial of John W. Mitchell
and others, citizens of Charles county, remonstrating against
any amendment to the charter of the Baltimore and Potomac
Rail Road Company;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Inter-
nal Improvements.

Mr. Compton presented the memorial of Samuel Cox, Wm.
B. Matthews, Wm. B. Stone and 90 other citizens, of Charles
county, against any amendment to the charter of the Balti-
more and Potomac Rail Road Company;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Internal
Improvements.

Mr. Kimmel presented the petition of Brooks and McAl-
lister, in behalf of 1,500 can-makers of Baltimore city;

Which was read and referred to Messrs. Kimmel, Maddox
and Billimgslea.

Mr. Bowie presented the memorial of Samuel F. Wylie
and sixty-six citizens of Baltimore, remonstrating against
any amendment to the charter of the Baltimore and Poto-
mac Rail Road Company;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Inter-
nal Improvements.

Mr. Bowie presented the memorial of C. Mason & Son, and
